More than just movement
Our mission at Beyond Motion is to create a safe and inspiring environment where dancers of all levels can learn and develop as artists without apprehension or pressure of competition. We provide a diversity of movement and discussion based classes, rich with exploration, creativity and collaboration. Dancers stretch the boundaries of their potential and artistry, while sharing their passion with a supportive and encouraging community.
Community
We provide a variety of movement classes in all styles of dance as well as discussion based classes including injury prevention, nutrition and Beyond Studio*. To strengthen our community and build relationships, we have arranged the UNITY LUNCHEON for all our dancers. Food will be provided as everyone has a chance to come together and share their passions. We nurture personal connections not only with our faculty, but between all of the dancers.
WORKSHOP
•BEYOND STUDIO• Join a conversation oriented program to support you on your dance journey. Find ways to keep dance an essential part of your life even if you don’t want to pursue a career in the dance industry.
Each dancer will also have the opportunity to work with a professional photographer: JCM Photography for a personal photoshoot mini-session, which includes 3-5 FREE digital downloads and 1 professional headshot. Digital photography of the Performance Presentation will also be available at an additional cost.
performance presentation
Submit your performance groups, solos, duets, trios, and student choreography to Beyond Motion’s Performance Presentation and Assessment. Our esteemed faculty is comprised of professionals from the dance industry, as well as college professors, choreographers, educators, and adjudicators. The faculty will provide live feedback to each presentation, allowing the dancers to review sections of their pieces with suggestions on how to improve their performance. Two faculty members will also offer written feedback. A special “PERFORMANCE HIGHLIGHT” will be presented to each piece at the end of the evening. We also assess student choreographers; our feedback for student choreography submissions is aimed at speaking directly to the choreographer, who is invited to join their dancers onstage. The Beyond Motion Performance Presentation offers a pressure-free atmosphere in which dancers can receive valuable feedback to take with them for future performances.

CONNECT • COLLABORATE •
Teachers and studio owners are invited to join us for Coffee Collaboration on Sunday. This is a chance for our community to congregate and discuss a wide variety of topics, such as recruiting teachers and choreographers, searching for suitable venues, identifying performance possibilities, discussing marketing techniques, exploring studio technology, and strategizing ways to manage parent expectations. Coming together to collaborate with other professionals in similar positions can be both productive and comforting.
